I wish you a happy New Year 2012, full of love and peace.
The aim is to give students more practice through listening to music or extracts of films or tv shows. I would like them to have more contact with other ways of expression like songs or poems. Finally, I will use videos where teachers explain different strategies to improve their English.

Where is my mind? The Pixies
This was done for a film production class assignment that required us to make a "cinepoem" that made the audience feel some emotion.
So I decided to make my video using "Where is my Mind?" song and made the footage have a stark black and white.

So this is Christmas. War is over.
John Lennon original, performed by the Corrs at Wembley Arena, London, December 2000.
December 8, 2007
I miss you, John. 27 years later, I still wish I could turn back the clock to the Summer of 1980. I remember everything - sharing our morning coffee, walking in the park together on a beautiful day, and seeing your hand stretched to mine - holding it, reassuring me that I shouldn't worry about anything because our life was good.
I had no idea that life was about to teach me the toughest lesson of all. I learned the intense pain of losing a loved one suddenly, without warning, and without having the time for a final hug and the chance to say, "I love you," for the last time. The pain and shock of that sudden loss is with me every moment of every day. When I touched John's side of our bed on the night of December 8th, 1980, I realized that it was still warm. That moment has haunted me for the past 27 years - and will stay with me forever.
Even harder for me is watching what was taken away from our beautiful boy, Sean.
He lives in silent anger over not having his Dad, whom he loved so much, around to share his life with. I know we are not alone. Our pain is one shared by many other families who are suffering as the victims of senseless violence. This pain has to stop.
Let's not waste the lives of those we have lost. Let's, together, make the world a place of love and joy and not a place of fear and anger. This day of John's passing has become more and more important for so many people around the world as the day to remember his message of Peace and Love and to do what each of us can to work on healing this planet we cherish.
Let's: Think Peace, Act Peace, and Spread Peace. John worked for it all his life.
He said, "there's no problem, only solutions." Remember, we are all together.
We can do it, we must. I love you!

Paul McCartney interview 1968
Transcription
PAUL: "I was always frightened of classical music. And I never wanted to listen to it because it was Beethoven and Tchaikovsky, and sort of, big words like that... and Schoenberg. I mean, like... A taxi driver the other day had some sheet music of a Mozart thing, and I said 'What's that?' And he said 'Oh, that's the high-class stuff. You won't like that. No no, you won't like that.' And I said, 'well, what is it?' (giggles) He said 'No, you won't like it. It's high-class, that. It's very high-brow!' And uhh, that kind of way I always used to think of it. I used to think 'Well you know, that's very clever, all that stuff.' And it isn't, you know. It's just exactly what's going on in pop at the moment. Pop music is the classical music of now."
"People just take our music... and you know, in a line we sort of say 'She was just seventeen,' and they just read everything into it. Like, 'She was a seventeen-year-old nymphomanic, working on the streets of Broadway.' But you know, all we meant is 'She was just seventeen.' But it might mean all the other as well... I don't know, you know. (smiles) I have no idea if there's any Aeolian cadences and... myasmic climaxes and all of that." (laughs)
"We're the last people to know about our songs, because the pop world's never heard the pop world as such. It's like, if you look at a snapshot of yourself, you're looking at what tie you were wearing or whether you were looking nice in the snapshot. But anyone else will just take the snapshot and say 'Oh, that's good. That's a snapshot of Tony,' you know. We're always just thinking of ourselves as just happy little songwriters. (giggles) Just little rockers, you know. Just playing in a rock group. But it gets more important than that, after you've been over to America... and you've sort of... got knighted." (laughs)
"And when we were touring, everybody was at a sort of peak of hysteria. Instead of just thinking, 'Oh, that's nice...' I mean, we could have just thought, 'A ha!! Click!! Let's use this!!' but there's no desire in any of our heads to sort of take over the world, you know. That was Hitler -- that was what HE wanted to do. There is, however, a desire to get power in order to use it for good. (comically points to camera) When you've got power, you've got to use it for the good!"
"Because like everyone else, we read the papers... we go through all the things that most people go through. So when everyone wants to say a thing at a certain time, it's handy being a songwriter. You know, you can put your finger on it."

Don´t look back in anger.
A great song and a very good advice. let´s face the future together.
Slip inside the eye of your mind
Don't you know you might find
A better place to play
You said that you'd once never been
All the things that you've seen
Will slowly fade away
So I start the revolution from my bed
Cos you said the brains I have went to my head
Step outside the summertime's in bloom
Stand up beside the fireplace
Take that look from off your face
You ain't ever gonna burn my heart out
So Sally can wait, she knows its too late as we're walking on by
Her soul slides away, but don't look back in anger I hear you say
Take me to the place where you go
Where nobody knows if it's night or day
Please don't put your life in the hands
Of a Rock n Roll band
Who'll throw it all away
So I start the revolution from my bed
Cos you said the brains I have went to my head
Step outside the summertime's in bloom
Stand up beside the fireplace
Take that look from off your face
You ain't ever gonna burn my heart out
So Sally can wait, she knows its too late as we're walking on by
Her soul slides away, but don't look back in anger I hear you say
Don't look back in anger
Don't look back in anger
Don't look back in anger
At least not today
Slip inside the eye of your mind
Don't you know you might find

Talking away
I don´t know what I´m to say
I´ll say it anyway
today´s another day to find you
Shying away
I´ll be coming for you love O.K.
Take on me
Take me on
I´ll be gone
in a day or two
So needless to say I´m odds and ends
But that´s me stumbling away
Slowly learning that life is O.K.
Say after me
It´s no better to be safe than sorry.

Sunday Morning. June&Lula
Listen to this cover of the classic song by The Velvet Underground.
Sunday morning
praise the dawning
It's just a restless feeling by my side
Early dawning
Sunday morning
It's just the wasted years so close behind
Watch out the world's behind you
There's always someone around you who will call
It's nothing at all
Sunday morning
And I'm falling
I've got a feeling I don't want to know
Early dawning
Sunday morning
It's all the streets you crossed, not so long ago
Watch out the world's behind you
There's always someone around you who will call
It's nothing at all
Sunday morning

It's just a restless feeling by my side

Bowling for Colombine.
Bowling for Columbine is a 2002 documentary film written, directed, produced, and narrated by Michael Moore. The film explores what Michael Moore suggests are the causes for the Columbine High School massacre and other acts of violence with guns. Moore focuses on the background and environment in which the massacre took place and some common public opinions and assumptions about related issues. The film looks into the nature of violence in the United States.
The film brought Moore international attention as a rising filmmaker and won numerous awards, including the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature, the Independent Spirit Award for Best Documentary Feature, a special 55th Anniversary Prize at the 2002 Cannes Film Festival and the César Award for Best Foreign Film.
The film title originates from the story that Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold – the two students responsible for the Columbine High School massacre – attended a school bowling class early that morning, at 6:00 a.m., before they committed the attacks at school starting at 11:17 a.m. Later investigation showed that this was based on mistaken recollections, and Glenn Moore of the Golden Police Department concluded that they were absent from school on the day of the attack.
Moore incorporates the concept of bowling in other ways as well. For example, the Michigan militia uses bowling pins for their target practice. When interviewing former classmates of the two boys, Moore notes that the students took a bowling class in place of physical education. Moore notes this might have very little educational value; the girls he interviews generally agree. They note how Harris and Klebold had a very introverted lifestyle and a very careless attitude towards the game, and that nobody thought twice about it. Moore asks if the school system is responding to the real needs of their students or if they are reinforcing fear. Moore also interviews two young residents of Oscoda, Michigan, in a local bowling alley, and learns that guns are relatively easy to come by in the small town. Eric Harris spent some of his early years in Oscoda while his father was serving in the U.S. Air Force.
Moore compares gun ownership and gun violence in other countries with gun ownership and gun violence in the United States. Moore concludes that there is no connection between gun ownership and gun violence. In search of the reason for the United States’s trigger mania, Moore discovers a culture of fear created by the government and the media. He says that fear leads Americans to arm themselves, to gun-making companies' advantage. Moore suggests sarcastically that bowling could have been just as responsible for the attacks on the school as Marilyn Manson, or even Bill Clinton, who launched bombing attacks on several countries around that time.

Seaber. Softship
With a softship
Didn't know where I was going
We'll always find a way
Let you know that my blood is flowing
You see right through her heart
To keep from showing
When my heart is glowing
It kept us awake all night
Hoping that one day we might
Sing together
And I rose up
With the waves in the water
And I rose
With the waves in the water
[ Seabear Lyrics are found on www.findlyrics.com ]
I tore up the forest
Didn't fear anything at all
I'll always find a way
Take you apart
Put you back together
Put my name into her eyes
To keep from falling
Out of the stars
And I rose up
With the waves in the water
And I rose
With the waves in the water
Didn't know where I was going
We'll always find a way
Let you know that my blood is flowing
You see right through her heart

First Aid Kit. Tangerine
First Aid Kit is a Swedish folk duo composed of sisters Johanna (b. 1990) and Klara (b. 1993) Söderberg, whose close vocal harmonies and woodsy, folk-influenced songwriting take influence from the likes of Fleet Foxes and Joanna Newsom. Hailing from Enskede, a southern suburb of Stockholm, the teenaged siblings began composing songs in 2007. Their 2008 YouTube video cover of the song "Tiger Mountain Peasant Song" by the Fleet Foxes spread their name rapidly on the Internet, the sisters subsequently appeared alongside Fleet Foxes performing the song in a concert in Holland.
Starting out in 2007, the sisters sent a demo tape of their home-recorded "Tangerine" to Swedish radio on which it later enjoyed airplay in the summer. Later that year the duo signed to Rabid Records, a label co-owned by the Swedish electronic duo The Knife. April 2008 saw the release of the debut EP Drunken Trees in Sweden. The London-based Wichita Records label reissued the EP one year later, bolstering its track list with a reverent cover of Fleet Foxes' "Tiger Mountain Peasant Song" and videos of three songs performed live in a Swedish forest. During First Aid Kit's early years the duo had a collection of songs posted on the social networking site Myspace, one of which was "Cross Oceans", a re-recording of which later appeared on Drunken Trees.
2010 saw the release of their debut album The Big Black & The Blue which was followed by an extensive tour (around 100 shows) of the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and parts of Europe, headlining the Thursday night at the Primavera Festival in Barcelona. While playing a concert in Nashville the duo was approached by Jack White who after seeing their show requested them to record a single for his Third Man Records series. In February 2011 the duo collaborated with Bright Eyes during their performance of Lua, it was later revealed that their upcoming album will be produced by Mike Mogis.

You’ve been packing your bags for the tenth time
You’ve been up on the roof again
And you’re biding your time but it’s all right they’re coming any week now
Left behind by the mothership, they’re our only real friends
And inside, you’ll always feel the same, even when you wake up
Even if you wake up
In a town where everyone will kick and scream
And come to the same conclusion every time
Time to realise you were never on the team
There was always a question hanging over you
In a hot air balloon with a rusty nail
Looking over your shoulder and setting sail
Your dreams will become part of the future and coincide with the past
You spend all your time by the radio waiting for the signal
But inside, you’ll always feel the same, even when you wake up
Even if you wake up
In a town where everyone will kick and scream
And come to the same conclusion every time
Time to realise you were never on the team
There was always a question hanging over you
In a hot air balloon with a rusty nail
Looking over your shoulder and setting sail
They drive the same road drifting over to your side
They drive the same road turn the lights on again
They sail the same strait turn the lights on again
You’ve been up on the roof again
And you’re biding your time but it’s all right they’re coming any week now
Left behind by the mothership, they’re our only real friends
And inside, you’ll always feel the same, even when you wake up
Even if you wake up

OASIS Whatever
I'm free to be whatever I
Whatever I choose
And I'll sing the blues if I want
I'm free to say whatever I
Whatever I like
If it's wrong or right it's alright
Always seems to me
You only see what people want you to see
How long's it gonna be
Before we get on the bus
And cause no fuss
Get a grip on yourself
It don't cost much
Free to be whatever you
Whatever you say
If it comes my way it's alright
You're free to be wherever you
Wherever you please
You can shoot the breeze if you want
It always seems to me
You only see what people want you to see
How long's it gonna be
Before we get on the bus
And cause no fuss
Get a grip on yourself
It don't cost much
I'm free to be whatever I
Whatever I choose
And I'll sing the blues if I want
Here in my mind
You know you might find
Something that you
You thought you once knew
But now it´s all gone
And you know it's no fun
Yeah I know it's no fun
Oh I know it's no fun
I'm free to be whatever I
Whatever I choose
And I'll sing the blues if I want
I'm free to be whatever I
Whatever I choose
And I'll sing the blues if I want
Whatever you do
Whatever you say
Yeah I know it's alright
Whatever you do
Whatever you say
Yeah I know it's alright.

Enjoy the magic of a song in a concert being sung by thousands of people!!
I'll sing myself to sleep
A song from the darkest hour
Secrets I can't keep
Inside of the day
Swing from high to deep
Extremes of sweet and sour
Hope that God exists
I hope I pray
Drawn by the undertow
My life is out of control
I believe this wave will bear my weight
So let it flow
Oh sit down
Sit down next to me
Sit down, down, down, down, down
In sympathy
Now I'm relieved to hear
That you've been to some far out places
It's hard to carry on
When you feel all alone
Now I've swung back down again
It's worse than it was before
If I hadn't seen such riches
I could live with being poor
Oh sit down
Sit down next to me
Sit down, down, down, down, down
In sympathy
Those who feel the breath of sadness
Sit down next to me
Those who find they're touched by madness
Sit down next to me
Those who find themselves ridiculous
Sit down next to me
Love, in fear, in hate, in tears
Down
Down
Oh sit down
Sit down next to me
Sit down, down, down, down, down
In sympathy
Enjoy the magic of a song in a concert being sung by thousands of people!!
I'll sing myself to sleep
A song from the darkest hour
Secrets I can't keep
Inside of the day
Swing from high to deep
Extremes of sweet and sour
Hope that God exists
I hope I pray
Drawn by the undertow
My life is out of control
I believe this wave will bear my weight
So let it flow
Oh sit down
Sit down next to me
Sit down, down, down, down, down
In sympathy
Now I'm relieved to hear
That you've been to some far out places
It's hard to carry on
When you feel all alone
Now I've swung back down again
It's worse than it was before
If I hadn't seen such riches
I could live with being poor
Oh sit down
Sit down next to me
Sit down, down, down, down, down
In sympathy
Those who feel the breath of sadness
Sit down next to me
Those who find they're touched by madness
Sit down next to me
Those who find themselves ridiculous
Sit down next to me
Love, in fear, in hate, in tears
Down
Down
Oh sit down
Sit down next to me
Sit down, down, down, down, down
In sympathy

My washing machine.
I wrote this poem for my washing machine when it broke down. Have fun with this real story as an example of poetry which comes from experience.
The washing machine mechanic came for the seventh time
concerned about its long illness.
On previous visits he had revised several main components.
His diagnosis was always related to physical problems:
its display, its electronic module, the engine wiring.
However, each time he changed a vital organ
the machine did a small gesture, an imperceptible flicker
of its buttons and turned off again.
If yoou see it from the end of the poem, there is no doubt
it was dead.
His visits were already common towards the end of each week
and Noel was Cuban and inclined to philosophy.
We talked about the superficiality of life without washing machine,
or about the futility of existence or the transience of time.
"Eight weeks ago you came for the first time, Noel."
I told him to confirm his theories about space and time.
One of these days we discussed about my faith in electronics,
dissapearing because Noel could not find the cause
in my new digital generation washing machine.
"I missed mechanics a lot" I said to him.
Noel looked at me and answered very seriously:
"But you should not say that, electronics placed man in the cosmos"
But in his seventh visit his somber face indicated an inner sadness
he had never been shown.
He said it was clear that the problem was not material
but in the spirit of the unit:
"The soul of the machine is in critical condition."
"perhaps", he commented,"modern stress or total postmodern atheism
had caused a widespread anxiety attacks
which had blocked it".
Noel was responsible for the replacement of the washing machine.
He told me it will soon be with us again.
I have not seen
either Noel nor my old washing machine
since then.

Another poem by Richard Brautigan
Things to Do on a Boring Tokyo Night in a Hotel
1. Have dinner by yourself. That´s always a lot of fun.
2. Wander aimlessly around the hotel.
This is a huge hotel, so theres lots of space
to wander aimlessly around.
3. Go up and down the elevator for no reason
at all.
The people going up are going to their rooms.
I´m not.
Those going down are going out.
I´m not.
4. I seriously think about the house phone
and calling my room 3003 and letting it ring
for a very long time. Then wondering where
Im at and when I will return. Should I leave
a message at the desk saying that when I return
I should call myself?

TWO POEMS BY RICHARD BRAUTIGAN
ROMEO AND JULIET
If you will die for me,
I will die for you
and our graves will
be like two lovers washing
their clothes together
in a laundromat.
If you will bring the soap,
I will bring the bleach
ALL GIRLS SHOULD HAVE A POEM
For Valerie
All girls should have a poem
written for them even if
we have to turn this God-damn world
upside down to do it.

russian red
Who knows where the name Russian Red comes from?
tell me what it is, it isn’t fair
but I’m wasting time, cos it isn’t my heart, it isn’t my fault
and every situation understands, well
the anecdote of chasing the locations to your doors
’cos I’m wasting time, I’m wasting money again
and all the cigarettes that I have never smoked
and all the letters that I have never sent
he was sitting by the swimming pool
but he was scared, ’cos it wasn’t his time and it wasn’t his chance
getting older’s not been on my plans
but it’s never late, it’s never late enough for me to stay
’cos I’m wasting time, I’m wasting money again
and all the cigarettes that I have never smoked
and all the letters that I have never sent
tell me what it is, it isn’t fair

The Backyard
The Movie is a realisation and celebration of Reykjavík's creative spirit. It is the embodiment of what happens when a group of friends work hard at implementing and executing an idea, and it is simply because they're having fun! It is pure joy on celluloid, and you should join this party, which features performances by Múm, FM Belfast, Sin Fang, Hjaltalín, Retro Stefson, Borko & Reykjavík! Most of them are internationally known due to their releases on Morr Music and Kimi Records.
This is what happened: After he had successfully organized a concert (featuring eight bands in twelve hours), Árni Rúnar Hlöðversson (of FM Belfast fame) found himself pretty amazed by the energy and velocity of his local scene. He thought: "I should throw a party like this in my own backyard. So he invited all his friends and favourite local bands to play a show in his small backyard over the course of a couple of days. And he also invited filmmaker Árni Sveinsson.
The bands don't sound anything alike - they are all doing their own thing. What they share is a friendship, a mentality and approach that surpasses any superficial differences. This is not so much what you would call a 'scene'. It's a group of friends: Take Borko kicking off the movie with his lo-fi majesty against Hjaltalín's intricate baroque; múm's delicate patchwork against Reykjavík!'s drunken artwork or FM Belfast's ungovernable will to party (which marks the finale grande here). It's all there, and it works together because the shared idea is not a sound, but a feeling. This feeling is perfectly captured in Backyard.

Finish line by Fanfarlo
Fanfarlo are a London-based indie pop band formed in 2006 by Swedish musician Simon Balthazar, and Giles J Davis (who subsequently left before the release of the first single). They fuse elements of folk, indie rock and post punk using eclectic instrumentation including trumpet, violin, mandolin, musical saw and clarinet.
The band, whose name comes from the Charles Baudelaire novella 'La Fanfarlo', started performing live in small London indie clubs in 2006, and released four limited edition 7" singles on London-based indie labels (one of which a split single with Sleeping States) throughout 2006-2008.
Their debut album, 'Reservoir', was recorded in October/November 2008 at Tarquin Studios, Connecticut, USA and was produced by Peter Katis (The National, Interpol). The album was released in February 2009 on the band's own label Raffle Bat and later licensed to the Atlantic imprint Canvasback, who released it in the UK and US in October 2009 and in Europe in April 2010.
Their single 'The Walls Are Coming Down' was released during September 2009. The music video[1] for the single was directed by Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard[2] and features escape artist Roslyn Walker[3][4] performing the Hanging Straitjacket Escape, a stunt first performed by Harry Houdini in the early 1900s. The stunt was also incorporated into the band's show at Webster Hall in New York on December 19, 2009 (this time by escape artist Michael Lee).
In early September, 2011, the band announced on their website that their newest album, Rooms Filled With Light was finished and posted a video of the first song, "Replicate." They also announced a short tour beginning at the end of September in London and ending in Spain in mid-November, a tour that includes a few U.S. cities. The album is set to be released February 28th 2012 in the United States, and February 27th everywhere else.

Wonderwall.
No sé cómo.
No sé cómo.

1. Some one who you find yourself thinking about all the time, the person who you are compleatly infatuated with. the one that you look for on your buddylist everytime you sign online. the one who has a heart next to their name in your phone book. the person that you find yourself completely head over heals for.
2. A barrier which separates the mundane from the Transcendent Reality. A true Wonderwall will always have a crack, or a slit or an opening which allows anyone a glimpse of what lies beyond the Wonderwall.

Oasis
Oasis were an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1991. Originally known as The Rain, the group was formed by Liam Gallagher (vocals and tambourine), Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs (guitar), Paul "Guigsy" McGuigan (bass guitar) and Tony McCarroll (drums, percussion), who were soon joined by Liam's older brother Noel Gallagher (lead guitar and vocals). They have had eight UK number-one singles and eight UK number-one albums, and won fifteen NME Awards, nine Q Awards, four MTV Europe Music Awards and six BRIT Awards, including one in 2007 for outstanding contribution to music and one for the best album of the last 30 years as voted by the BBC Radio 2 listeners; they have been nominated for three Grammy Awards. As of 2009, the band have sold an estimated 70 million records worldwide.
Also the band was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records in 2010 for “Longest Top 10 UK Chart Run By A Group” after an unprecedented run of 22 top 10 hits in the UK. The band also holds the Guinness World Record for being the "Best band Britain has produced in the Last Decade" in the UK between the years 1995 and 2005, spending 765 weeks in the Top 75 singles and albums charts.
Its members were signed to independent record label Creation Records and afterwards released their record-setting debut album Definitely Maybe in 1994. The following year, the band recorded (What's the Story) Morning Glory? (1995) with their new drummer Alan White in the midst of rivalry with Britpop peers Blur in the charts. The Gallagher brothers featured regularly in tabloid newspapers for their sibling disputes and wild lifestyles.
In 1997, Oasis released their third album, Be Here Now, and although it became the fastest-selling album in UK chart history, the album's popularity tapered off quickly. The band lost members Paul McGuigan and Paul Arthurs as they went on to record and release Standing on the Shoulder of Giants in 2000 and were replaced by Gem Archer and Andy Bell who joined the group for the tour in support of Giants. The band found renewed success and popularity starting with 2005's Don't Believe the Truth.

Woderwall
Today is gonna be the day that they're gonna throw it back to you
By now you should've somehow realized what you gotta do
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now
Backbeat the word is on the street that the fire in your heart is out
I'm sure you've heard it all before but you never really had a doubt
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now
And all the roads we have to walk are winding
And all the lights that lead us there are blinding
There are many things that I would like to say to you but I don't know how
Because maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me?
And after all
You're my wonderwall
Today was gonna be the day but they'll never throw it back to you
By now you should've somehow realized what you're not to do

Bansky title sequence of The Simpsons
The Simpsons has always been subversive, but last night, the animated show took that to a new level by airing a dark, extended opening title sequence — created by UK graffiti artist Banksy — that depicted Asian workers laboring over Simpsons animation and merchandise. The effect was rather stark and piercing: The first few 35 seconds of the sequence feature the near-usual credits, except for a few “Banksy” tags on prominent Springfield buildings, before rather unexpectedly veering into a depressing tour of overseas sweatshop facilities, where legions of workers slave over Simpsons animation stills (see: photo here!), kill kittens to stuff Bart Simpson dolls, and even use a chained unicorn to punch out the center of Simpsons DVDs.
Apparently, the title sequence was a reaction to reports that the show outsources much of its animation to a company in South Korea. The BBC is reporting that the controversial credits caused delays behind the scenes because of disputes over broadcast standards and a threatened walk-out by the show’s animation department. The news organization even quoted Simpsons executive producer Al Jean as saying: “This is what you get when you outsource.”
The questions here are many: How did the show get away with airing this? It puts both Fox and The Simpsons in a bad light, whether or not the reports about South Korea are true. Is this simply the rebuttal? Is this supposed to be funny? Are we supposed to laugh at this? Should The Simpsons be co-opting criticism of their show and making light of it? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.

Synopsis
Exit Through the Gift Shop: A Banksy Film is a film directed by Banksy, that tells the story of Thierry Guetta, a French immigrant in Los Angeles, and his obsession with street art. The film charts Guetta's constant documenting of his every waking moment on film, from a chance encounter with his cousin, the artist Invader, to his introduction to a host of street artists with a focus on Shepard Fairey and Banksy, whose anonymity is preserved by obscuring his face and altering his voice, to Guetta's eventual fame as a street artist himself. The film premiered at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival on 24 January, 2010. It is narrated by Rhys Ifans. The music is by Geoff Barrow. It includes Richard Hawley's "Tonight The Streets Are Ours".[1] The film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature at the 83rd Academy Awards, and broadcast on British public television station Channel 4 on August 13, 2011.
There has been debate over whether the documentary is genuine or a mockumentary.

Letra de Across the universe
Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup,
They slither while they pass, they slip away across the universe
Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my open mind,
Possessing and caressing me.
Jai guru deva om
Nothing's gonna change my world,
Nothing's gonna change my world.
Images of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes,
That call me on and on across the universe,
Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box they
Tumble blindly as they make their way
Across the universe
Jai guru deva om
Nothing's gonna change my world,
Nothing's gonna change my world.
Sounds of laughter shades of earth are ringing
Through my open views inviting and inciting me
Limitless undying love which shines around me like a
million suns, it calls me on and on
Across the universe
Jai guru deva om
Nothing's gonna change my world,
Nothing's gonna change my world.
Jai Guru De Va Om
Nada cambiará mi mundo
Nada cambiará mi mundo.
They slither while they pass, they slip away across the universe

Jai guru deva om
Nothing's gonna change my world,
Nothing's gonna change my world.
Jai Guru De Va Om
Nada cambiará mi mundo
Nada cambiará mi mundo.

They are two different interviews, I thouhgt they coul interest you. Good work!!!
COLPLAY INTERVIEW
MTV News: When and how did you decide to start this new album?
Chris Martin: What normally happens with us and what definitely happened this time is as soon as we finish one record, we think we can do better and so we start working on another one because we feel like we have everything to prove again. You know what I mean? So as soon as we finished X&Y, we got straight back to work because we knew we could do something better.
How do you go about writing as a group?
CM: We have a team of 8 year olds who work in a factory just outside London all the time and we go there and see what they got, and often they have hits, and we take them.
CM: We try to take influences from everywhere and we try and not use any formulas especially on this record well, all the records weve done. But once you´ve done three albums theres a danger of falling into formula and so we tried to avoid that at all costs.
Is there a temptation to reinvent yourselves?
CM: I think as much as possible we look at what other people are doing and try and steal all the good bits from all of them. So you look at Umbrella by Rihanna and you think oh that drum beats good and you look at Stronger by Kanye West and think oh those glasses are good and then you look at Greenday.so we are affected by everythings that´s going on but we steal from so many different places that hopefully it becomes untraceable.
So then do you think lets pick a producer? For instance, Brian [Eno]? Tell us how that came about?
CM: We called up Brian to see if he knew anybody who could produce us. The words of the phone call were. Please can you come in for a sandwich and tell us if you think you know anyone that could help us improve. And he said, Well I definitely agree you can improve and I think I can do it for you. To which we said Greatwhat flavour sandwich do you want? and that was the beginning of the worst year of his life (laughs).
What was it like working with him?
Johnny Buckland: Well he´s an incredibly enthusiastic person, he just is full of energy for new ideas and new things, he´s not at all affected by
CM: The Weather
JB: Yeah, or his past achievements,
CM: He never mentions his past achievements
JB: No
CM: So when you´re working with someone like Brian who doesnt mention his past achievements, you´d feel silly if you mentioned yours so its a good kind of restart. We thought God we´ve gotta try and impress Brian today, you know, and he doesnt care how many Grammys youve won or whatever. In fact he couldn´t care less, so that´s quite liberating in a way, cos he´s not concerned with your past at all.
According to reports he had to bring you back together any truth in that?
JB: I mean for me, he didn´t really fulfill that role. I think Phil our fifth member, if anything, he came back to us to working with us again, and that really brought us together, he´s like. If anyones ever upset or angry, he´s always there to put his arm around us, calm us down, bring us back.
CM: Our fifth member PhilI dont know if you´ve seen that Metallica film Some kind of monster, he´s like the therapist in that. Except, we´ve known him since we were kids. Every good band should have somebody like that.
How do you decide on the name of the album?
JB: We were on tour in South America last year and in Mexico we went to Frida Kahlos house and you saw that painting didn´t you? Called
CM: Viva la Vida. And I saw this painting, and Frida Kahlo is this, she´s not alive anymore, but she was a Mexican Artist who paints in very bright colours, but theres always real life within it and sadness and darkness, but it always looks very uplifting. And so when I saw that picture I thought, well that´s kinda what were trying to write about at the moment. And then a little voice in my head said, Well it does sound like Ricky Martin and another voice said, Well, don´t worry about it. So it´s always been called Viva La Vida, despite everyones protestations, but thats just what it had to be called.
Did that influence the artwork on the website etc?
CM:We had this idea for artwork that um, sort of felt that about our own band that we wanted to kill it and start it again, so we thought well how would it be in a revolution when people break in to a palace and get rid of the old institution? And we thought, maybe theyd paint over all the pictures and just kinda trash the place. So that´s where the idea for our Album cover came from, ruining a great masterpiece by scribbling on it.
Did that lead you to making your first track available for free on download?
JB: We made our first track downloadable for free because we didnt want to be taking all the time. When you release an album, it can sometimes feel like you´re, you know, on the hard sell. So, I think we wanted to give something back to people who supported us
We´ve heard stories that some of the vocals were recorded in a Spanish church?
JB: We went on a kind of field trip to Barcelona to record some vocals. We wanted to do lots of group singing, lots of chanting and things. We wanted to do it somewhere sunny and interesting, so yeah we just decided to go to Spain and we found a really amazing old nunnery and we did some singing in it. CM: we didn´t find any nuns though
JB: No
CM: We did try and invoke the spirit of a choir of nuns while doing those vocals.
JB: what´s that film?
CM: The sound of music?
JB: no with the choir of nuns
CM: Sister Act. And Sister Act 2 with Lauryn Hill. That´s classic.
Is there anything different about this album?
CM: the way we feel about our new album is that weve kind of thrown away our old tricks which makes us a bit nervous but its also potentially more exciting in the long run. We´ve tried very hard to write songs that people will want to sing along to but hopefully present them in a colourful way.
Whats the idea between the couple of ones that are like 2 tracks in 1?
JB: We limited ourselves to sort of 45 minutes of music on this album and so we wanted to fit in as many ideas as possible and do slightly more unexpected things so there´s some songs have complete right turns to somewhere else. We didn´t want to do a standard song structure every time.
CM: Also, we used to work in shops when we were younger and I noticed that every time they did a, I worked in a supermarket, and every time they had a packet of biscuits or something and did a special offer where you buy one packet and get another one free everybody liked those biscuits more, so we thought lets try that with the album in a couple of places, we´ll have a buy one get one free.
Do you still get nervous when youre about to release something?
CM: The answer tot hat question is " were more terrified than ever. Only because we tried really hard.
JB: Waiting for the release of this album is probably more nerve-racking than it ever has been. I´m not sure hwy. I don´t think well ever enjoy this period.
CM: imagine, you know how in Rocky, you have the trainer Mickey. Imagine he felt like how we feel. You train something; youve done all you can on it then you have to let it go. So you´re just like ok fingers crossed. But we definitely couldn´t have put anymore love into it than we did.
What can fans expect form this new series of live shows?
CM: think were mainly gonna play Bon Jovi songs and a couple of our B-sides. Its not an essential night out. I take that back, it is an essential night out. Were such hit whores. If we have the slightest hint of a hit then we´ll play it, you know. Its about trying to make the perfect nights entertainment. In all seriousness were putting this concert together and we´re trying to make it as entertaining as anything that you can go and see and that obviously involves playing songs that people like.
What do you make of the Jay-Z headlining Glastonbury debate?
JB: I don´t know why there is a debate about whether it´s right or wrong that Jay Z should be playing, its ridiculous.
CM: I think it´s a bit like people complaining about Mozart playing the Camden Falcon. It´s like yeah it´s pretty different but dont we want to go and see him? Hes brilliant! Theres not really any issue, only unfamiliarity. Anyone who isn´t into it is probably a c**t.
Is there anyone at the moment who youre particular fans of?
CM: From our point of view since weve last been around, Amy Winehouse has appeared, who is the best singer I´ve heard in my life apart form Beyonce. Who else? We like a lot of things. We like the ting tings, we probably like the same stuff you do.
JB: Rihanna
CM: Rihanna of course, who else?
Another female, Kylie, you did a track together. It didn´t quite make it on the album. Is that true?
JB: Kylie sang on a track we did but we havent finished it.
CM: we just havent finished it. It will definitely come out one day. It´s pretty sexy. I just don´t know why we havent finished it yet. I do know why actually cos were waiting for one line of words.
From Kylie?
CM: No No. I just cant come up with it.
Chris Martin: What normally happens with us and what definitely happened this time is as soon as we finish one record, we think we can do better and so we start working on another one because we feel like we have everything to prove again. WELCOME TO THIS BLOG
The objective of this blog is to share music and videos in order to improve your English. Every song we work in the class will have the video clip to be watched in the next week.
We will write in English comments about them, so you will have the opportuniy to practice your writing. If you wanto to write you need to register wih your name and a clear indication of who you are. Obviously you must be educated and you an appropiate language.
You will always find an introduction of the band studied so you know something about them before watching the video.
Finally, as you all know, English is the international language and extremely important to learn. Music is another way to learn it having fun. So enjoy it!!

THE POLICE
The Police were an English rock band formed in London in 1977. For the vast majority of their history, the band consisted of Sting (lead vocals, bass), Andy Summers (guitars) and Stewart Copeland (drums). The Police became globally popular in the late 1970s and are generally regarded as one of the first New Wave groups to achieve mainstream success, playing a style of rock that was influenced by punk, reggae, and jazz. Their 1983 album, Synchronicity, was number one on both the UK Albums Chart and the US Billboard 200, and sold over 8,000,000 copies in the US. The group finally disbanded in 1986, but reunited in early 2007 for a one-off world tour lasting until August 2008. The Police have sold more than 50 million albums worldwide, and were the world's highest-earning musicians in 2008, thanks to their reunion tour.
